With a background of growing up on "nothing but ABBA and Olivia Newton John," Stephanie Thomson has joined the North American cast of Bjorn Again, playing the lead role of 'Agnetha'. She has been touring with Bjorn Again since November of 2004. Stephanie is currently working on her fourth album, aimed at the pop/adult contemporary market, however, her career had very diverse beginnings.

Stephanie started singing at the age of two, and was touring professionally by the age of 14 with Grammy award-winning songwriter Geoff Thurman, of hit song 'Jehovah' (recorded by Amy Grant). At the age of 19, Stephanie went on to four years of performing in Regina's Applause Dinner Theatre with some Canada's best ACTRA members. When she turned 21, Stephanie went on to win a national CKRM Radio Country Talent contest. Since this win, she has released three albums independently across Canada and the USA, three music videos, and recieved numerous awards and nominations. A national CBC Television special featured Stephanie as one of the "top five Canadian country rising stars", and aired twice. Stephanie was also nominated for Outstanding New Female Vocalist of the Year - 1999 Big Country Awards (based on RPM Country 100 and RPM Country Albums charts).

Peter Sullivan (partner of Sir George Martin, and manager of Tom Jones and Billy Ray Cyrus) spotted Stephanie during a showcase, and enthusiastically helped coordinate her second album with USA investors and Capitol Records involvement. They are quoted as calling Stephanie 'the next Barbara Mandrell'. However, Stephanie turned down the 'country' deal amidst artistic differences, and has since written with many famous pop songwriters including Stan Meissner (Celine Dion), Chris Burke-Gaffney (Chantel Kreviazuk) and McMaster & James (duets with Rob James).

With her touring experience, Stephanie became the first female producer to win eight bids for Canadian Armed Forces Show Tours. Productions have featured Sue Medley, The Johner Brothers, Alan Frew, Michael Kaeshammer, Theresa Sokyrka (from Canadian Idol fame), Polly-Esther, and many other talented Canadian artists. Paige Productions, Stephanie's company , became nationally recognized as a growing entrepreneur and Stephanie was chosen to represent Saskatchewan in Paris, France at a Cultural Forum for the International Expansion of the Arts and Music. Touring in Bosnia, Israel, Egypt, Alert and Labrador, these military shows have allowed Stephanie to "give back" to the community by bringing her talent - and much-appreciated levity - to Canadian troops.

Recently, Stephanie's single 'What Do I Gotta Do', released to adult contemporary radio in May 2004, has been chosen for the 'SHE GROOVES' (broadcast Wednesday nights at 6pm on WCVF 88.9 FM, Fredonia, New York). Over 35 international stations have obtained this unique show as it gains in popularity! She Grooves is a new one-hour commercial-free radio show featuring Stephanie's music as a 'female artist of extraordinary diversity.' Host Theresa Orlando, creator of, 'The Female Musician' (www.femalemusician.com) includes Stephanie's single, along with selections by artists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Etta James.

Career Highlights

Albums:

• Third album Modern Day Attraction released May 2004. Featuring fourteen tracks (including two pop remixes), it was produced by Chris Burke-Gaffney and showcases Stephanie's songwriting.
• Second album Stephanie (an EP released in 2001) came with assistance from Peter Sullivan, partner of Sir George Martin. Sullivan, manager for Tom Jones & Billy Ray Cyrus, spotted Stephanie during a showcase, and enthusiastically helped to coordinate the project, recorded in Nashville's Wildwood Studios.
• Her debut, Almost Blue, released in 1997, featured a string of hits.

Singles:

• Modern Day Attraction from Modern Day Attraction charted in BDS Top 50 (country). Second single What Do I Gotta Do released May 2004.
• Love, Love, Love, Phyllis & Don and Rockit Scientist from Almost Blue charted in "Country Music Top 30".

Saskatchewan Country Music Association Awards:

• To date, Stephanie has been nominated for a total of 25 SCMA Awards, including Female Vocalist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year in several consecutive years.
• Recipient of Humanitarian of the Year (2004); International Humanitarian of the Year (2002) and, with her band, Non Recording Band of the Year (2002); Female Vocalist of the Year (1999 and 2000) and Video of the Year for Phyllis & Don (1999).

Nominated for Outstanding New Female Vocalist of the Year - 1999 Big Country Awards (based on RPM Country 100 and RPM Country Albums charts).

Stephanie, now working with partner Brenda Milligan-Davis, was the first female producer to win a bid in the history of Canadian Armed Forces show tours.
