Stephanie to join cast of "Bjorn Again"
The '70s disco era of ABBA has been ‘Bjorn Again’ with local singer, songwriter & entertainer Stephanie Thomson joining the North American touring cast as blonde female lead singer, "Agnetha".
Stephanie was asked to audition a few ABBA songs for Annerin Production’s creative producer Jeff Popiel at the North American office, located in Calgary. Annerin Productions is the producing arm of Jeff Parry Promotions, a company of 23 years that was recently ranked as the 33rd largest promoter in the world, and is relatively new in comparison. Located in Canada but touring and producing projects across North America and most recently Europe, Annerin has earned the deserving reputation of "hitting the mark" with unique crowd-pleasing projects. In the past few years, Annerin Productions has produced theatrical and musical events among which include Barrage, Tony & Tina's Wedding, Comfortably Numb - The Pink Floyd Experience, A Night To Remember and Bjorn Again.
Stephanie recently performed her first show November 5 in Reno, Nevada and the show takes her to San Diego, California to bring in 2005. See www.bjornagain.com or www.annerin.com for more details.
Paige Productions and BKPromotions win two more armed forces bids
Paige Productions in conjunction with BKPromotions are proud to announce that we have won the government tender and have been awarded the show tour to entertain the CFPSA Canadian Troops in...
Israel and Egypt,
December 2-18, 2004. The variety show is called 'Girl's Flight Out With A Few
Good Men' and includes Jamie Warren (country), Stephanie Cadman (fiddle/step
dance), Polly-Esther (French), Stephanie Thomson (pop/country & M/C character
acting with Brenda Davis), Sue Medley (rock), Theresa Sokyrka (Canadian Idol
2nd place finalist), comedian Jennifer Grant, and Jay Beutner heading up an
all star band.
and
The North Pole,
December-17, 2004. This show is called 'Seeing Santa for Christmas...' and stars
The Wilkinsons (Country Music's First Family/Recording Artists), Men Without
Shame (The GREATEST Classic Rock Band in the Country), Erica Sigurdsen (Comedian/MC),
Daniel Coutu (French Magician/MC) and Kelly Trottier (Amazing Champion Fiddle
Player/Stepdancer/singer).
"These tours left us with a lasting impression. We consider ourselves extremely
fortunate to have been involved directly in what CFPSA does for our deployed
troops, often with little recognition. We have gained a new respect for the
work our CF members perform in all corners of the world, 365 days a year and
24 hours a day. Considering all they do for us, bringing them a little piece
of home and a bit of a distraction seems the least we can do for them."

Stephanie
won the first round of the Colgate Country Showdown in Minot, North Dakota,
and competed at the Regionals in Flandreau, South Dakota on September 6. Steph
was the only Canadian artist entered in the ND first round. Unfortunately, Steph
came in second in the Regionals (losing only by one point)! She did make a few
great contacts though, so it's not all that bad...
Irv Fines of Men Without Shame accompanied Stephanie to Minot and filed the
following report:
Irv
& Songstress Stephanie Thomson Attacked By Wild Amazon Birds - Holiday
goes awry for Shameless bass player...
An International incident occurred at the North Dakota State Fair when Irv and
Ms. Stephanie were attacked by giant birds. Irv, who was on holidays at the
time, had volunteered to drive Ms Steph to a singin' contest (which she won
over 16 other competitors...more later) being held at the fair. After the contest,
they headed for the midway and were immediately accosted by giant birds with
sharp beaks. "I think it was one of the jealous competitors who unleashed
the feathery fiends on us," said Irv. "Luckily for me, the birds realized
Irv was a grain fed veggie and they swarmed on him instead of me," said
Ms. Steph. On a bright note, congratulations to Stephanie Thomson for winning
the Colgate Country Showdown State Finals. To be the only Canadian in the contest
and go up against local favourites and judges demanded an undeniable performance
- which she delivered. "She could have been as popular as a 100% Canadian
Beef Burger Booth at the State Fair, but she charmed the audience and judges
with her songs, voice and personality," said Irv after the competition.
Now it's off to the regionals ...then the finals...for $100,000 and a Lyric
Street Records recording contract. Past contestants (not all winners) include
Martina McBride, LeeAnn Rimes, Neal McCoy and Sara Evans, to name a few. Good
luck and if you win the $100,000 please get a plastic surgeon for the beak marks
on Irv's forehead.
